About
I've spent more than two decades turning hard technical problems into shipped products — and I still write code every day. The title on the door has changed; the curiosity hasn't.
My career has run the full arc of modern software — from classic ASP and on-prem data centers to AI-native, cloud-deployed platforms. Along the way I've been a CTO, a CIO, a co-founder, a ScrumMaster, and a lead engineer, often wearing several of those hats at once.
What ties it together is a simple instinct: understand the business, then build the system that unlocks it. I've split legacy monoliths into microservices, stood up real-time data backbones, shipped mobile apps to communities around the world, and most recently, woven large language models and agentic tooling directly into how teams write and ship code.
I'm equally comfortable in the boardroom mapping a technical roadmap and in the terminal at 1 a.m. proving the architecture works. I believe the best technical leaders never fully put down the keyboard — and in the AI era, that's truer than ever.
Two companies I helped build were acquired by private-equity firms and scaled nationally. Today I focus on helping organizations adopt AI thoughtfully, modernize what's holding them back, and ship with confidence.
A few principles I keep coming back to:
Beyond the code
The same drive that pulls me toward new technology shows up everywhere else, too.
Seeing the world from a new angle — and tinkering with the tech that gets it there.
Pattern, rhythm, and improvisation — not so different from good architecture.
I enjoy flying small planes. Systems thinking at altitude.
Understanding where innovation came from to see where it's heading next.
Writing & making
In 2023 I authored a satirical book on AI use and adaptation, blending technical insight with humor. That same energy lives on at PostNowhere.com — a satirical social/AI playground combining GPT-powered meme generation, custom moderation tooling, and serverless back ends.
I write about AI here on the blog, too — the practical, the speculative, and the occasionally absurd.
